i don't think my kids ever called me by my name--they called shawn "shawn" at some point. and for a while, when she was about 2, anna called me "mother"--i have no idea where it came from.
WOW, she is brilliant! Shell you are truly blessed.
now I want to call you Shell. Very sweet. Except it kind of reminds me of this rocker girl I was a TA with in junior high - her name was Shellsea (like seashell but inverted). She ate toothpaste to hide her smoker's breath. But I still like Shell for you. . . and I think Amanda's kids use first names for both parents.
